The South (Spanish: El Sur), could be a 1983 drama film, the second film of the compulsive Spanish film maker Víctor Erice. it had been voted the sixth best Spanish film by professionals and critics in 1996 Spanish cinema centenary. it's supported AN Adelaida García Morales' short novel by identical title.
Originally, the film would have run three hours, however producer Querejeta determined to not enable the picture taking of the second ninety minutes, that takes place within the south of Spain, as a result of he thought the 95-minute film Erice did was good for his functions. The film was entered into the 1983 city festival.
This film tells the story of slightly woman (Sonsoles Aranguren) living somewhere within the north of Spain and fascinated by the secrets of the south on the face of it buried within the traits of her father (Omero Antonutti). In her childhood, Estrella's father could be a mysterious world. Growing up, she finds out that he once had a sweetheart (Aurore Clément), which he is still taken with along with her.
