In an attempt to pass the examination of primary school , Peter gets to dictate the theme (a trace of Giuseppe Garibaldi ) from his grandfather through the radio link. The signal is, however, disturbed by a communication from the police , causing Peter to write and deliver to the Committee a theme that mixes the life of Garibaldi to that of a wanted for drug dealing. The disastrous outcome of the subsequent oral examination will mark yet another rejection of Peter, who is accompanied by his father to Grosseto where he is enrolled in a college .

Soon Peter begins to turn for the city, making jokes to anyone (including a policeman ), the father, in order to hide an extra-marital affair with the maid, he decides to send his son to work as a clerk in some shops. Again, the work experience of Peter will prove completely disastrous.
