The Leopard and Nino Rota 1963

            
In the decade, a dying aristocracy struggles to keep up itself against a harsh Sicilian landscape. The film traces with a slow and deliberate rhythm the waning of the noble home of Fabrizio Corbero, blue blood of Salina (the Leopard) and therefore the corresponding rise to eminence of the hugely affluent ex-peasant Don Calogero Sedara.

The blue blood himself refuses to require active steps to halt the decline of his personal fortunes or to assist build a brand new Sicily however his kinsman Tancredi, blue blood of Falconeri swims with the tide and assures his own position by marrying Don Calogero's lovely female offspring Angelica. The climatical scene is that the luxurious forty-minute ball, wherever Tancredi introduces Angelica to society.
